3 Days in Lisbon, Portugal

Hello friends!

So I arrived back in the states early Sunday morning due to long flight delays from Rome. I already miss the European atmosphere but I am SO happy to be back with my sweetie! I missed him so much and couldn't wait to see him! :))

Today I'll post about my time in Lisbon; followed by a post on my adventures in Rome!

Lisbon was breathtakingly beautiful! I loved the mix of both new and old architecture along the busy streets. I was staying in a business district within walking distance to the office but did a day of sightseeing on Sunday  (the day I arrived) all around the city! I was pretty tired walking all over since I only got about 2 hours of sleep during my overnight flight but I pushed on to take advantage of my one day to tourist it up!

The highlights of my sightseeing in Lisbon included a beautiful monastery, views from an old tower and the coast, a 175 year old pastry shop, and the stunning statues and architectural elements!

Monday and Tuesday were spent at the office. We worked very long days since we were had to stick to a tight schedule. After work, we would head straight to lengthy dinners. When I finally got home in the evenings I was so exhausted from the long day that all I did was talk with my family for a little bit and then shower and prepare to do it all over again in the morning. Though I was tired and run down (I ended up getting a sore throat and then a cold) it was all worth it! I loved the city and definitely loved the time that I was fortunate enough to spend there!

Have you ever been to Lisbon? If so, what was your favorite part about the city? I would love to hear about your travels!

Hope you enjoy the photos! :)

At the Office in Rome!

Hi everyone! :)

Sorry I have been MIA the past few days.. we have been so busy working and traveling in Portugal and Italy!

Today is our last day in office so tomorrow will be a day of exploring for me (CANNOT WAIT)!!!! I'll be back in the states Saturday evening-- can't wait to see my sweetie!

Once I'm back home and settled, I'll edit and upload tons of pictures from the trip! :)

Until then, here'e an iPhone pic (sorry for the poor quality) from the rooftop terrace at the office in Rome!

With love,

Tomorrow's the Big Day!

Happy Friday Friends! :)

In Rome, I'll be staying at Leon's Place.

In Lisbon, I'll be staying at the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade.

Since I'm traveling for Business, I get to fly First Class-- which I have never done before! That should be super awesome! Ahhh I'm getting more and more excited just thinking about it all!!

Okay, back to work aka planning for the trip! :)

Me, Myself, & I Link Party

My Beautiful, Crazy Life

Happy Tuesday Friends!
I hope you enjoy this link party post (my first ever!) Feel free to play along in the comments or on your blog as well! :)

1. What is your biggest phobia?
Not sure if this is an actual phobia but I have a huge fear of being stabbed! Just the thought of it makes me cringe! Wait, just googled it and it is a legit phobia: Sabresmittenophobia (that's a mouthful!)

2. If you could relive any day of your life, what would it be and why?
If I had to choose just one day to relive, I would choose a day where my family was all together enjoying the time we were spending with each other. It wouldn't matter if we were on a fun-filled vacation or just sitting around at home, as long as we were all there I'd be happy! My little brother is a Marine and is currently over in Afghanistan, so our whole family hasn't been together in awhile. He is actually coming home for leave in a few weeks and I a super excited to see him!! :)

3. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be?
Hmm, this is a tough one. I'm not sure I am at the "perfect" age yet. I think I would like to pause my life at a point where I am happily married to my sweetie with a few trouble making kids to look after-- I think that's when I'll be the happiest! :)

4. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for?
I've actually never really been mistaken for a celebrity! In high school my basketball coach always said I looked like Ally Sheedy from The Breakfast Club, lol!

5. What songs are included on the soundtrack to your life?
Fix You - Coldplay
I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
Hotel California - The Eagles

I have been super frazzled lately trying to prepare for my business trip to Portugal and Italy this Saturday! I'm trying to decide what to pack, figure out what I need to buy, plan what I will be doing in my off time, clean my house before I leave, and the list goes on and on! It will totally be worth it though; I am SOOOO excited! :)

Okay, off to cross off one of the million things on my checklist!!

With love,

A Trip to Remember

The mountains were absolutely breathtaking.

Wish I was still there frolicking around without a worry in the world.

With love,

Off the Beaten Path

Hi everyone :) Hope you all had wonderful Fridays and are already enjoying your weekend! :)

Our trip to the mountains was long this morning (took us about 7.5 hours) but boy was it worth it! It is so beautiful and serene up here! The lakeside cabin we're staying in is only discovered after traveling up the mountain on curvy, gravel roads. As you're headed to the cabin, you are greeted by a small, wooden bridge and an old set of railroad tracks. The mountainside is beautifully wooded with creeks running throughout. It seemed like every 20 yards or so I wanted to stop to take more and more pictures!

After we got settled in the cabin, we went down to the dock on the lake to cast a few lines! I caught the first fish, a small 4 inch bass using squirmy worms as my bait! :) I got a bite on my line almost every time I cast out!

After fishing, we all hopped in the car to head into the small little town. We decided to eat at a cute little Mexican restaurant we passed on the way in. The food was delicious! There were lots of locals eating there; the place was packed!

With full bellies, we hopped back in the car to head home to the cabin. Aaron and I relaxed in the hot tub on the deck while watching the fireflies light up all around us; it made me feel like a kid again, especially when Aaron caught a few in a jar for me! :)

Now I'm sitting in the living room enjoying sharing my day with you all.
I hope you enjoyed looking through my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

With love from the mountainside,

Hello friends!

As mentioned in my last post, Aaron and I will be road tripping it up tomorrow morning! We will be off to the Blue Ridge Mountains at 7 am sharp for a fun weekend getaway! I would love to leave earlier, but since Aaron works the night shift, we will be leaving right when he gets home; he'll be sleeping and I'll be cruising! Let's hope we don't end up in Arkansas or something!

In honor of our little road trip fun, let's take a peek at how you would travel cross-country Vintage style! :)

First, you'll need to pack up all your vintage goodies in a colorful and fun suitcase, like this fabulous hot pink set!

Your makeup and toiletries won't be left behind in this lovely train case!

After you lug all those bags outside (which I'm sure are not overpacked... right?), you'll have to load them up in your vintage trailer! I'll take the pink one!

When it's time for gas, you could fill up at an adorable vintage inspired gas station!

You'll definitely want to grab a bite to eat in a cute little retro diner!

And of course, stop and take lots of photos along the way!

Hoping for a safe and fun-filled trip! :) :) :)))) Will let you all know how the drive is!
