A Trip to NYC -- Any suggestions?

11/27/2012

In two weeks we'll be headed up to one of our favorite vacation spots, New York City. :) I am already SO excited for this trip though I am not overly excited for the bitterly cold weather. Guess I'll be packing layers!

So with our trip quickly approaching, I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on places to visit, yummy restaurants, small bakeries or cafes, fun shops, etc! I have been to NYC many times and this time I think I want to try to visit some areas that are less touristy than the areas most normally visit (Times Square, Central Park, etc).

Any suggestions would be wonderful! :)

So far our plans include Mary Poppins, The Rockettes, and a Nets game. :)

Thanks so much for your input! :) I can't wait to go on our trip and to share with you the fun we had. :)

Little old me back in 2008 :)

xx, Shannon

  2. my absolutely favorite place to eat is Tea and Sympathy (it's similar to Alice's Tea Cup...but run by awesome british people!) it's super tiny, but serves all amazingly delicious british food!!!! http://www.teaandsympathynewyork.com/home.php

If you do go to the Highline (and I HIGHLY recommend it!) Stop by Chelsea Market for lunch! Tons of adorable shops and food places and probably my favorite bookstore in the city.

  4. I'm from New York! I love it :) I agree, definitely try to avoid the extremely touristy things, especially if you've done it already. I like going to concerts in small venues. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge and exploring Brooklyn is always so much fun as well! Also check out the highline park!

Hope that helps :) Have an amazing time!

  5. I agree with Alice's Tea Cup-Adorable place and tasty food (scones and tea are super yummy). You've probably heard of Baby Cakes (http://thebabycakesshop.com/) but if not you should definitely go! Super delicious cupcakes/cookies/treats and most are dairyfree/gluten free and some are sugar free. Definitely worth a trip. Have a lovely time!
Ps-I just found your blog and I'm really enjoying it:)
